Dear members of the Bassett High School Bengal Band Family,

 Now there are huge incentives to work Bingo. You have all heard us droning on and on about the need we have for more help on Saturday night. Recently the FC Band Pit Crew Bingo Board of Directors voted to increase the donation we make to the Bassett Band. As in the past the band only receives money if you work. Part of each donation goes toward the general fund. General funds are used to build show props, buy uniforms, repair or buy new instruments, pay for things like water and food that is on the busses on trips, pay insurance…you get the idea. There are numerous things the band has to pay that have to come from the general fund. The only way they can get these funds from bingo is to have bingo families working our game. 

 To help the band, and in turn our band students, the board has voted to increase the donation we make for workers supplied by the Bassett Band Boosters. Please keep in mind that the Bingo Board and the Boosters are completely separate organizations. The Bingo Board donates to the Boosters and other organizations and those organizations determine what to do with the funds. The band booster board has agreed to give additional credit to workers with the increased donations anticipated.  Below is a list of bingo positions and the donation the bingo board will make for each person working that position. Beside it is what the band boosters have agreed to credit to the student represented by the worker.

As you can see these are nice incentives. With just two people working the floor you can receive credit for the full band fee by working just once a month. Learn to be a caller and it will take just 5 nights? This does not negate the need to have all band fees paid by the schedule the band booster board sets but it is a great way to supplement that or start to build for the future.

This bingo game has been in continuous operation for over 28 years. Three things have always been true of this game, we have always been profitable, we have never be in trouble with the Charitable Gaming Commission, and we have always struggled to find enough help. We will do everything we can to keep the first two from changing and hope that these new incentives will help change the help situation for the first time ever.
